to the left of the vulva where her tail is covering part, it shows swelling. I could use a cool towel if the water lines are fozen. The pinkish part also looks kicked , I would put triple antibiotic, on my Mare that got kicked (mare fight)
I put the biozide ointment on it.Not a lot,but enough to keep it from getting irritated from Urine or feces. The lumpy portion at the top, It may be from having caslicks done since she was a broodmare.
Somone had posted that the blood was from being in heat.. No, it will be a whitish discharge Not blood. Her Uterine is way up there, so I doubt if her uteris is damaged. I would not use ice. Cool water, you can use a wet towel then pat her dry and put the antibiotic ointment on her.

Kidney or bladder stones? Those can cause bleeding and inflammation as they are passed.

I just checked her today and it looks a little more swollen then in the picture.. I tried opening her up a little more to see how far in the damage was but she wasn't having it so i didn't push the issue, there was a nice big pee spot and i saw no sings of blood in it..SO what about neosporin? on hand i also have bannix and scarlet oil but i don't know if those are safe to use in that area..... is it safe to use betadine in that area?........ do you think if i took her into the vet that there is anything they could do in that area? can they stitch up in there? Or do you think it will heal on its own? also should i do some penicillin shots maybe for infection?

48 hours will tell the tale I think. The only difficulty in this is that New Year's is Tuesday.. today is Friday.. Monday is NY's eve... Will and can your vet come Monday? If it worsens? It is just the bad timing for "wait and see" if you do and it goes the wrong way.

it is visible where on the left side of the vulva ,she has skinned marks and some swelling. the Vulva itslef does not look normal with the swelling at the lower end , it could be damaged from the kick or from foaling in the past, and appears to be a tad lumpy. I would cold hose it, to see if the swelling will decrease.
Muppet girl, you have seen people with damaged vulvas ?

Ack! I wasn't talking about vulvas, horse or human, I was talking about mares/fillies or women who have been knocked around internally and have had vaginal bleeding because the uterus has been disturbed.....lol!
