I have a black horse that I rein with and he's completely covered in summer sheets so he doesn"t fade, but it didnt work the greatest. We've also used black shampoo. Does anyone have any suggestions for feed or anything that could help??.

Thanks:)

Keeping him stalled during the day. Or spray sunscreen on him everyday!

There are supplements that you can feed, such as Black as Night, keeping him covered, and only turning out at night are my suggestions.

I had a Black TWH that was a "true black" which meant, he never faded. He was turned out 24/7 and never redenned or bronzed. If your horse is not a true black, your only hope is to do the above...

Also, my horse is going to the trainers and were not sure how to keep the hair short, i know that they should be under light all the time so we bring them in the barn at night and we also put their winter blankets on if it's chilly...any suggestions there also??
