How long will it take for me to bond with her?
How did you bond with your new horse?

Thanks in advance
Hi Giraffe!

Well, it takes time, and is on ongoing process, like any relationship.

One thing you can try that is fun and easy is clicker training. Here is a link to get you started:

Do it well, and the process will aid you in whatever you do in the course of your journey with your equine.

@Acadianartist , what was the course you used with her? I am going to fetch my Pippa pony home next week (yay!) and want to do something like that with her.
Sorry for the late response @Avna, just seeing this now. I did Horsefulness Training with Karine Vandenborre - https://horsefulnesstraining.com/

We completed the full Liberty training course and are about halfway through the Ground work course. She doesn't give it away, but neither do any of the well-established trainers, and she is extremely thorough. There are videos, PDFs, webinars, podcasts. She will answer questions if you run into problems, and will comment videos if you send them to her. There is also a Facebook group for members where you can ask questions and share experiences. It has honestly changed how I relate to horses in general, and I grew up with horses so I thought I understood them. It didn't just impact me and Kodak, it made it so I can approach pretty well any horse confidently and feel I am communicating with them. I can't say enough good things about it, but it is time-consuming. I guess I felt like if I wanted it to truly work, I had to follow her instructions to a T. That included not riding Kodak for the first few modules, which is the hardest part. If you don't want to do that, you can just take the Ground work course and incorporate some liberty work. It's also really good.
