Me too, the more research I do the more it says it's uncommon in people my age. It's because I started working at a barn and I'm there 6 hours a day constantly cleaning stalls, using the pitchfork, tacking up, using the reins, eta..
I have never heard of anyone else who has had that...I had that in my thumb when I was younger. It caused me a lot of pain also and I had it operated on.
How bad was the surgery? It only happens to me right before I go to bed and when I wake up, I think it's because my hand get really warm. I also have to take my rings off at night because they swell.
To be honest I can't really remember. I was only about 10 or so. But I couldn't imagine it was too bad. You can see the scar where they have cut and its only about a centimetre or so.
