LOL Yeah, they generally use 'twilight sleep' if the surgery is quick, so the result is laughing! I slept right thru mine, thankfully!
I did have a scary moment when I was in for surgery, and woke up in the middle of it feeling like I couldn't breathe! They had me intubated and on a repirator, which was breathing for me, but I felt like I was suffocating! I couldn't move, but was totally aware of everything that was being said, and could follow the conversation the surgical team was having (about baseball!) I heard one of the nurses chideing the surgeon, saying he was all work...Thank God he was!...I didn't feel any pain, but could feel pressure, and when they moved my body to a new position. I guess the anesthesiologist realized I wasn't completely under, maybe my heartbeat spiked or BP went up?, because I heard someone say "Oh, SH*T! She's up!" then nothing. I told my surgeon my experience, and he pooh-poohed it at first, until I repeated the conversation I heard. He turned white!

"...oh the things you do you you're all drugged up!..."
I kept insisting we go out for pizza even though I had just had my wisdoms pulled and had a mouth full of cotton guaze!
My sister had surgery last year, and insisted they go out and shop for furniture after! She went in to the store, and was fine for a few minutes (altho pretty loopy!) Then, she snagged the sales guy, got right in his face, and started ranting...in what sounded like Russian with a little Martian thrown in! Then, she twirled around with her finger in the air, and mouth open, like she was going to make a point, and slumped into a puddle on the floor! Her bones had apparently turned into jell-o, and Ed had to scoop her up and carry her out to the car, while she was speaking Russian-Martian-ese. SHE knew what she was saying, and kept laughing and nodding all the way home!

Am I the only one that had wisdom teeth out whilst awake??
When I got to the hospital I did wonder why there wasn't anybody else waiting  now I know. I had 2 out at the same time and I think I had a lorry load of aneasthetic but was awake throughout the whole op. I've got 2 more and hope they behave themselves so I don't have to go through it again!

Most of the time they will put you to sleep if your wisdom teeth are impacted or growing "sideways" My husbands grew in fine so they just yanked them out while he was awake and that was in his early 20's. Mine were impacted so they put me under, I woke up to my dad wheeling me out in the parking lot. I have trouble with sleep medications so this I'm sure gave me the same affect. Somehow he got me in the car, then thought "gee now would be a good time to start swerving the car back and forth while yelling OH NO OH NO!!!  My brother was also knocked out, I remember his g/f coming over and he was eating pasta and spiting it everywhere while yelling "I'm sucha FW(r)EAK" he then proceeded to tell her what he truly thought of her. They broke up the next day...:lol: (she was a horrible person GOOD RIDDANCE!)

I had all four of mine out over two weeks ago. I was put right under for the surgery and woke up 45 minutes later in the recovery room. I woke up fully alert and said, "Hello!" so confidently to the nurse that she realized I was real alert. So I got to get up faster than the others. I was totally alert the rest of the evening and all the next day. I remember everything about waking up and didn't feel drugged up at all. Then in the evening of the second day I started feeling really depressed (from the anesthetic I guess) and when my mom mentioned I looked depressed, I burst out sobbing and couldn't stop for a while! Which is really wierd for me! My head felt funny for a couple more days and then I was a lot better. It really does depend on the individual. Everyone reacts so different.

I opted to be knocked out when my wt were removed. My friend had hers out with just numbing, and she said the worst part wasn't pain (she said she was NUMB) it was the sound of them being pulled! Loud long creaking like nails pulled from a board...ew!
I had some major surgery, and woke up feeling fine. A few hours later, the nurses wanted to see if I was able to get up and walk around a little. I felt terrific (morphine ROCKS!) so sat up slowly, and was great, stood up, again fine, and started walking. The nurses were talking, and sounded funny, so I said "You guys sound like you're under water!" laughing. They ran and grabbed me, all but throwing me back in bed. I guess I was passing out, something I had NEVER done in my life! But, hey..morphine ROCKS! LOL
