Alright so, it is now winter in Wisconsin. blehh. :? And our horse pastures are about 35 yards from the house. Inside their shelter, they have a 55 gallon stock tank and outside they have a 20 gallon heated bucket. In the summer, we have a hose running from the faucet on the house to the big tank and just have to turn the water on to water the horses.

Welll... In the winter, the hose freezes. So we get all bundled up and looking like the abominable snowman, get the four 5-gallon buckets and fill them at the faucet. Then we have to put them on a sled and haul them through the snow drifts and waist high snow down to the horse pasture. And repeat. It's quite a sight. Not only that, but it's a constant battle to keep the big tank unfrozen.

So the other day it froze solid. We threw a chain around it and hauled it up to the house with the quad and it took all four of us to haul it down the stairs into the basement. We're still waiting for it to thaw out. Needless to say, we bought a water heater. :lol:

On top of ALL of that, last night I went out to water the horses and the faucet itself was frozen. So we used a blow torch and (literally) almost started the house on fire. But it got the faucet unfroze. :lol:

I love being a Wisconsinite.

That's funny. Isn't it going to cause a mess when you have to take the stock tank out of your basement?

At least i'm not the only one with water problems. I fight with hoses ALL the time. I have to run the water from inside my house as the outside hookup froze! Im always fighting with hose. I have 300' of hose and I really hate every foot of it.

Remind's me of my hose, we have to drag the house outside and inside ALL The time, after we finish filling up the stock tank !
It is such a pain, we have to roll it up and drag it in, than unroll it and so forth
and never mind we look like a snow man too

Our water line to the automatic tanks blew apart twice last week but after reading what you folks go through daily.....I don't feel so bad about it.

haha. I guess they just drained the water tonight and hauled it up and got it outside with the heater hooked up. One problem solved. :lol:

I hate hoses. Hoses SUCK.
