Hello! I stumbled upon this site about a week ago and I have been coming back ever since. There is certainly some very educated people here! I am usually found with my Border Collies competing in sheepdog trials, but I have always had a love for horses and grew up riding them. I do although, have much to learn.
I've attached a picture of my new horse, whose name is Gamble. He has an awesome story on how we came to get him. Gamble's previous owner had worked with horses all his life and had planned on training Gamble (previously named 'Kid') for cutting. Unfortunately life, kids and another horse (he had 2) to take care of was too overwhelming for his current lifestyle.
During this time, the Dallas Cowboys vs. Panthers game was going on. Bets were placed and this horse was the prize for the winner:shock: Lo and behold, the original winner did not want the horse so I took him...for $300.
So without further ado, here he is! He'd rather follow you around the field like a dog, than be with the other horses. Being just a 3y/o I couldn't ask for a better temperament. His ground work is awesome and the previous owner did a great job with him. He had 14 rides on him when we bought and training is progressing well!
Excited to be here and will post more pics of the others later.
