My warmblood mare was signed off for riding work last year so decided to put her to a stallion early July. The first scan showed she was in foal but when coming back for second scan the vet could not find anything. We put it to bed to leave until spring this year to try again. Over the last couple of months I feel that she has got massive. I do like to keep my horses well over winter so I could be over feeding her now she’s not in work but I’m beginning to think the scan may have been wrong. She is most definitely not wormy and I’m reluctant to spend anymore money to vet as time will tell anyway. Just wanted thoughts. Obviously would love her to be in foal but it’s most probably wishful thinking 😏
Can anyone tell from the photos wether she is just fat or possibly in foal?

Really it is still too early to see much if any of a baby belly.

Can you get a picture directly from the side of her? It could be a baby bump, or it could be fat.
