Looking to move to Florida at the end of the year. I have been in management and sales and customer service most of my life. I have been around horse racing all my life. Looking for someone to contact me or give me some information on becoming a jockeys agent.

@aubie - any ideas of a good direction or place to start for this new user?

Before you make such a move, if you are looking to be a agent for jockeys of live racing in the state of Florida there is new legislation you need to be aware of and where the opinion is headed...

Just my thoughts, You are probably going to starting off with new jocks. I would check Florida rules, each jurisdiction is different but agents can only represent 3 jocks at the most. Mostly 2 sometimes just one. So it's going to be hard starting out.

You are familiar with racing, you know you have to get to know trainers.

Just remember Calder is now gone, so again a smaller field of jockeys needing agents specifically for Florida.
Getting "inside" is tough for anyone in racing with the better trainers, horses and the established jockey already has a well established agent.

Expect it will be very tough going when "no connections" are mentioned..
I wish you good luck.
