I was just wondering if it is possile for horse's to get a kanker sore ( on of those cuts in your mouth that turn white and really hurt)? if it is possible, how would you know your horse had one, and how would you treat it?
I've never heard of a horse getting one. That said, they can get mouth sores, as it's a symptom of some diseases and Foxtail in the hay can cause them.
canker sores (in humans) are caused by a deficiency of either B-12, zinc, folic acid, or iron, but can be caused by other immune system problems. I haven't heard of horse getting them for these reasons, but like vivanche said, they can be a symptom of underlying problems.
