Got a bigger sketchbook and was able to get a drawing out.
Taken with a cheap digital camera...looks much better in person, I promise!

Finished photo is a tad blurry. Once I find the other camera we have I'll take a better photo and post it.

Absolutely beautiful. I love the shading you did on it.

Thanks! Shading is my favorite part of drawing. I also think it's the worst part of drawing =) It makes or breaks it.
I really like the size of the sketchbook I got. It's 14x11. When Liz said that she was doing an 18x24 I got it into my head that I wanted to do bigger pieces. I went to the craft store and grabbed an 18x24. After lugging it around for a few minutes I traded it in for the next size down. That's a huge sketchbook-don't know how you're doin it Liz! Haha I may get there one of these times but I'm quite content with the 11x14.
Working on a charcoal piece at the moment. Probably won't finish it tonight but it's in the works!

Kayty that's so ironic that you say that. When I look at drawings like yours and Liz's and Toadflax, I envy your detail. You've said before how you draw in almost every hair, which I think makes your drawings so much more lifelike. I always think that my lack of detail like that makes my pieces so much more 'simple' looking. Everyone's style is so different.
Thanks so much for the compliment. Still don't consider myself in the same league of art but I'm trying!

So I tweaked the latest drawing. I started it with the aim to not have a forelock showing but when I looked at it again today I couldn't leave it so empty looking.

And here's a better quality photo of the first one:

Don't doubt yourself at all please miss!!!!! You're work is sensational, it really is. I don't just go flinging around praise like this, only if I think somebody's work is genuinely excellent will i say so! And your's is just beautifull, as Liz and I said before, it is so soft, you're drawings put more emotion into the subject and you use your artistic license to create a more simple feel that is hugely effective!
i've always wanted to be able to be 'loose' and 'soft' with my work, even f it isn't for my commission work, but just for myself. If I try to work softly and loosely, it turns out terribly!

Haha the looseness comes from being impatient. I've never been able to spend days on a drawing. If I'm working on something I like to go to bed knowing it's finished...never been a patient one.
Thanks for the compliment. Very much appreciated!
