I needed a new halter, and did not want to spend an arm and a leg, so I ordered one from Chicks. Right after, they had a ad here for the halter I got, so I thought I would review while it's there.

The company was very helpful with getting me the right size. When it showed up I was very pleased. It is a rich dark color (probably dyed, they offer it in black too) the stitching is perfect and the hardware is adequate. The throatlatch, the rolled part, seems a bit stiff and I may replace that, but since I can do that myself it won't cost anything. It seems to me that horse's heads have gotten smaller, maybe it's just my imagination, but getting a decent fit for bridles is why I started making my own. That may be why the rolled part seems a bit off.

This is not for anybody wanting a real high quality halter, but it is perfect for me. It will be easy to keep it conditioned because it's the only leather I use. I'm really pleased, and think it will last me for quite a while.
