Life after A Horse Riding Injury

A few people have tried to persuade me to train my horse for barrel racing, which I think he would excel at because he has the passion for it, but my hip injury has me worried, and I have an appointment to have it popped back in place. Is it possible that I’m overthinking and fretting too much about this? I’m putting a lot of money into this horse to get him to where he needs to be.

I don't think you're fretting too much. You're obviously concerned about your safety, which is a good thing.
Barrel racing is a very fast- paced sport. Often times the horses are very hot- headed and hard to control. Not always, but often.
If you feel you are putting yourself in danger, have someone else race him or try a different sport with him.
Good luck! 🙂
