I can't seem to find a horse that I really like and is exactly what I want. So if you guys could help me that would be great!

I did find one horse but someone is going to look at her monday but the owner said she will email me if she doesn't get sold.

Also, some of you may have remembered me saying I was getting the big black Oldenburg, Don Don, but my trainer found out a bunch of information on her and the previous owner had lied about pretty much everything to her. She was not 14 but actually 19, was never broke, and didn't have a current coggins and a bunch of other stuff so that obviously, did not work out.

What I really want is a big but calm horse. At least 16hh but the bigger the better. I don't want it to be just tall, but i want it to be big all around, i guess you could say Big Boned. It does not have to be fully broke but that would be nice. I do not mind training a horse as long as it is CALM.
NO THOROUGHBREDS, QUARTER HORSES OR APPENDIX!!!! I have nothing against those horses but there are just so many people with them and I like to be different. So some kind of warmblood or draft cross would be nice.

I am located in York, PA so a horse in either Pennsylvania or Maryland would work. My budget is only about $2000 so I don't know how easily it will be for me to find a horse I like. haha

Thanks everyone!!!

I forgot to add that I will be using the horse for hunter/jumpers but I would rather have a horse for the hunter ring since i already have a crazy pony I use for jumpers. haha! Also the horse can be between 4-15 years old.

why is it so hard to find one?! i have been looking for months, I can't seem to find one to lease that is 'sane' or a good one in my price range? Horse people tell me that people are just 'giving away' perfectly good horses. Right before I started looking, I met this woman who has a barn nearby me. She pointed out one of her boarders horses and said "Yeah she's getting ready to give that horse away, she can't afford it anymore" It was a great, well trained dressage horse...can't think of the breed, arabian cross I think. I thought 'well, if she's thinking of GIVING it away maybe I could get it?' Don't you know I went out the next week and the horse was GONE. The woman just came to the barn one day and said "Oh, and by the way, someone will be picking her up tomorrow" and that was that.

Geeze that's crazy! Haha I don't want to lease a horse though. It would be a waste of money for me. If I can't find another one then I'll just stick with my pony. I'm not going to get rid of her but I would like something bigger and calmer. It wouldn't be so hard for me to find a horse if I wasn't so darn picky! Haha! There are sooooooo many TBs for really cheap around here but I don't want the same thing as everyone else. O well... I guess I will just keep looking. A horse will show up eventually. =)

It's going to be harder finding one of those bigger English breeds at $2000. D:
All the horse I saw at that price/lower/or slightly higher were not so sane, not tained, old, one of the breeds you do not want.
DreamHorse.com Horse ID: 1490456 - Feel the Beat
Wrong breed..
DreamHorse.com Horse ID: 1494433 - Hollywood Playboy
Pretty, tall, wrong breed, not so sane.
DreamHorse.com Horse ID: 1475029 - Boonsie
Pretty, wrong breed, not fully trained.

Thats pretty much all I found. :/
Remimber to be patient and not rush in to get a horse! That pefect horse is out there waiting for you.

Thanks a lot guys but I really don't want a thoroughbred. I know there are a lot of amazing ones out there I just
don't want one.

And Beau... The westphailian is in the mid to high 5 figures and the other two horses are WAY too short. But thanks for looking.

Go to www.Twinvalleyranch.com
They are located in Canada but I have shipped weanlings all the way to SC from them. :) Excellent quality horses. The horse pictured is a draft cross from there. Then I have a TB cross and a Dutch WB cross from them. Lois is great in working with you to find a match!

you should really look at this horse Daddy O. he is located in Freeland MD not far from the PA line at all. I feel in love with him but I did not have the money to buy him at the time. He's 17h tall Warmblood (Draftx). He isnt a rescue one of their own horses that they are selling. Here is the website go to horses for adoption and he is the first one. Absolutely an awesome horse. Also, try negotiating the price, I had got them down quit a bit. Horses for adoption - Acres Of Hope

Goodluck!!
