I am looking for a fun online game similar to world or warcraft (played for a long time but got bored). I downloaded EVE last night but it would appear that they are having some major crashing issues and I haven't really been able to play, though it looks really cool. So any suggestions?

I've heard RuneScape is a bit similar. Never played WOW or RS myself but sometimes heard of these two games in the same or similar context.

Yeah...they had a major overhaul about a month ago switching to Dominion from Trinity. Last I checked, I was looking into paying again for a month, and it kept white screening and crashing upon 5 minutes in-game. I'd give it about a month and try again. =)

What online game types are you into?

Look up Dragon Fable. It's a free MMORPG, but can turn into a paid game. It's a mix of WoW, and some other fantasy games out there.

If you're willing to pay for a game, I'd look up Warcraft 3, Fable, and/or World of Goo, all are for PC and are really fun, albeit Warcraft 3 is the only one with online capabilities.

Yeah, I have the trail of EVE and really love it, even though it has a pretty steep learning curve. However, the crashes when trying to perform some rather basic and essential tasks have made it rather frustrating.

I have heard good things about Fable, might have to look into that and Warcraft 3.

Yeah, when you first play, the tutorials are your best friend. But once you have gone through those, it's easier to pick up the rest of what goes on. It's been crashing on loading pages, loading the docking center, and who-knows-what else. Like I said, I'd give it a month or so, and then get a new trial and see if the bugs are fixed then. With a massive renovation/upgrade that Eve just had, I can't say I'm surprised that it's having issues after only 2 months of being live.

Fable is incredible. They have a PC version, the original- for Xbox, and Fable 2 for Xbox360. It's a rpg, you use swords, bows, etc, really fun if your computer can support it- most can. :)

Looking over warcraft 3 made me miss playing WoW, gee thanks.

With EVE it seems strange to me that only some people are having this problem, a lot of people that I have talked to in the game have no clue what I am talking about with the crashes. I'll wait a bit and see if they fix them.

Aww I'm sorry!

Yeah...I can't find any patch issues on the eve website about it. =/ And one guy I know says it works fine for him, yet for my fiance and I it freezes, glitches out and does everything else in the book to create issues. Are you talking to people who have paid accounts or do they have trials too?
What I'm starting to think is it may be a trial account issue, and thus not reported because paid accounts aren't having the issue. :?

Ok, so apparently Eve freezing and crashing was a patch fix. =) I just got a paid subscription for the month, and it's working flawlessly. =)

Cool. =) You do realize that you can upgrade to a paid while on trial right?
What'd you start as? What's your location?
I started in the Caldari region of Akiainavas.
In-game, I'm Kiana1016, I'm in a Ferox[ Ferox - EVElopedia - The EVE Online Wiki ] and a member of the Flying Pirate Corp<FlyPi>(just my fiance and I). We either mine in the asteroid belts nearby, or we steal from peoples wrecks and run, thus the name Flying Pirates.
If you'd like to hang with us in the game, we're located in the Gallente region of Mirilene usually. :)

Here are a couple screenshots. =)

Yeah, I am just using as much "free" time on the game as I can before I start paying for it. :p

Uh-oh does that mean we are going to be enemies? I started out with a minimtar but now that I feel like I have a little better grasp on things today I started aGallente character.

Once you start paying you'll have a lot more control over things. Such as, you''ll be able to buy anything(no restrictions), and you can join a corporation, or form one(really expensive and takes a lot of training), and you can transfer money and make item contracts(send items to other people via stations).
Gallente and Caldari are the strongest types. No one is enemies unless they make themselves one. Anyone can train to do anything. It's just it might take you a little bit longer to train for something that isn't what you started out as. Gallente and Caldari are the strongest types.

Also, if you are doing missions it sometimes helps to have a bigger ship/more experienced player around as backup. If you want help or whatever let me know.
