Mane on Mare Thick on BOTH sides?!

My new mare, Kariba(yay!), has a REALLY thick, nice mane! I love it! But.....its on both sides of her neck. Not that I mind, but its not just a tiny peice..... its like a full mane on both sides! Its too thick on one to bring it to the other side. i mean, its like a double mane!lol
Anyone have any ideas? I doon't want to cut it short. :)

My mares mane used to be like this. I thinned it (and was glad i did!) then tamed it over to one side. She thought it'd be a good idea to rip the middle of her mane out, so now I'm having to go through this again....ahhh.
