Just wondering what your thoughts and experiences are regarding my mare...
She has a habit, both online and under saddle of stumbling/dropping her hind end. Almost like it is out of step or disjointed and cant keep up with her front (I describe it as if she has forgotten about her back half lol). This problem is most noticeable when loping of course, however she has been known to do it just walking down the road. Feels almost like she's slipping occasionally.
That I do not mind so much as when she is loping. It comes out worst when circling on the line or loping circles (big or small) under saddle, even on dry, level ground but it is not unheard of for her to stumble when going in a straight line. Her bend is good and when online she doesn't pull but lopes nicely, if not rather heavily, around.
I'm not sure if it is a muscle problem, a conformation problem or maybe if she needs a visit from the chiropractor. She's done it as long as I've had her and been working her at the lope (so about 2 years) but I cant help but feel that is has gotten a little worse as of late.
She gets worked or ridden, these past 3 months anyhow, 3-5 days a week, weather and work permitting.
Any ideas?
Attached pics (the best I could find) of her build
