They wouldn't be shown in dressage or trained in English unless they are shown with other gaited horses. You would see more of them if you were on a truly gaited horse forum.

Gaited horses should never trot?
There's this TWH at my barn and she trots. She can do the running walk and I've seen her pace (I think) a couple times. But her trot is kind of awkward and it almost looks like she's lame, but the farrier said it was because she wasn't gaited very well or something... Her owner doesn't know very much about gaited horses, so that might be part of it. The person who rides her doesn't know how to make her gait and it just happens by chance when she does it.
