Hello everyone!
Next weekend. i will be moving my horse from my barn currently, to a new barn around 30 minutes away. I am trying to make a list of everything that i need to get prepared and ready (or things i need to accomplish before hand) so that my move will be smooth and well :) this of course is not my first time moving, but last time i was sort of not prepared and extremely stressed out, thus making my move verrrrry messy. I would deffinatly not like to have a repeat of that last move, so this move should be smooth:) i am not a good person to sort of infer from a reply what i should put on my list, so if you have the time i ask that you would actually make a small list for me! if not of course i understand, just reply the basics!

See if the old barn will give/sell you a bale of their hay so your horse can be transitioned slowly to the new barn's hay. Same goes for grain if that's changing- get a few days of grain and decrease the amount of old grain while upping the new grain over the course of at least a week.

Clear out your locker, if you have one, ahead of time and have only your horse, halter & lead, and blanket (if you use one) left at the barn by the time moving day comes. That way you can just load up your horse into the trailer and drive off without worrying about a bunch of little things.

If you can get access to your horse's new stall/paddock/pasture ahead of time, do a walk through before you bring the horse over. Check for anything that's missing (e.g. is there a salt block & holder?) or anything that's potentially dangerous or needs repair and ask the BO to fix before the horse is moved.
Thanks! i deffinatly will take this advice:) the barn that i will be moving to is actually my grandmothers 300 acre farm haha ! (free board;) so i will personally be out there to check for repairs needed, then ask the stable help to work on it! and yea i'm going to get most of my stuff packed, ready, and over there a few days before to lighten my trip :)
