He's actually a boy LOL! My fiance and his friend were joking that I'm trying to turn him into a female...so not the case! I just love purple and I think it looks great on him! Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

I think the sandpaper and E6000 should work. Mod Podge is lovely but I don't think it would hold up to being wet. If you try it please let us know. I have a couple of ugly bridles that would love to be sparklefied.

My thoughts with the modge podge would be to do a layer of MP, cover with glitter, and either another layer of MP and sealer or just seal it. Earlier today I took a comb with a wooden handle and applied a layer of modge podge, glitter, modge podge, and then last I sealed it now I'm just waiting for it to dry to see how it holds up.

I've got a test piece for water that I mod podged last night. It's a bar of soap. I figure if mod podge stays on soap when wet then why not a bridle.

I did some brush handles with modge podge...Layer of MP, glitter, MP, and then sealed and they look really nice!

I've coated a few different things with mod podge, glitter then more mod podge. I did 3 thin layers of mod podge allowing it to fully dry between coats. The mod podge is holding up under water! I did use some shiny sealer since I only had the matte mod podge. I think your next bridle attempt may be fine with it!

Now I'm excited and have to get a bridle to try this on!

I don't think the issue would be water, so much as that the leather is flexible. The bending and giving as the horse moves and the putting it on and off is where the cracking and flaking is going to happen. Things like a brush handle are not going to give you a fair example, as they don't have any give to them.

Oh I agree. The two items aren't comparable. I was just saying that I did brush handles and using the modge podge was no issue on them.

Maybe you could test it on a cheap leather belt or something comparable. That would give you a better idea of how it would hold up.

I was thinking of testing it out on some old spur straps I just haven't got around to trying it yet.
