My half acre pasture is full of goosefoot weed. I also use the pasture to ride and train him in . How on earth do I get rid of the weeds with the horse still in the pasture? I got some amine weed killer but I've tried that [out of my pasture] and it doesn't seem to work.

Mow it. Mow it often. And, Mow some more. It is an annual. Doesn't tolerate all the mowing. You need to also insure you keep it from seeding. Prior seed remains dormant for years so you'll need to be aggressive about getting grass thick.

A good idea would be to have your soil tested to see whether or not its too acidic or has low fertility. If needed break your pasture up into small paddocks and then work on them one at a time. We have been battling milkweed and ragweed so Ive had a lot of practice

Another question for you, is the rest of the pasture that good? Or do you feel you should spray it out completely, and seed it fresh?
