My New Horse

I have waited 47 years to own a horse again. I have ridden on and off for the past 35 years and regularly in the past two. I have been on the search for my dream horse for the past 6 or so months. I did not expect to get a horse so young, she is 4. But she is calm and sweet as can be. She rides soft and calm, and is receptive to anything asked of her. My trainer has been horse shopping with me and we are both quite pleased with her.
I want to show her in ranch classes at some point and she has cutter breeding so we will see what she has to offer there. I wont compete but it will be fun to play with cows.

She is not quite mine yet, put a deposit and is pending a vet check.

OH!!!!!!!!! She is ABSOLTUELY STUNNING!!! Beautiful! I am a bit envious. She so young and full of capacity and so gorgeous and a ranch horse too. I do ranching and work with cows.

She's built the way I like them built, the color I like, and the little bit of chrome that adds to the drool factor. Good find! I hope she passes her exam and we will get to see many more pictures of this lovely lady.

Thanks! Vet check is next Tuesday the 2nd. I am like a little kid waiting for Christmas.

Well, she has ringbone. It came up in the PPE x rays.
I am on the search again. Horse shopping sucks hard. The time, the expense, and the heartbreak. I am crushed.

So sorry that she didn't turn out to be "the one" - but owning a four year old unknowingly with ringbone is much more heartbreaking than continuing the search. You did the right thing getting a thorough PPE, because I guarantee it'd hurt so much more owning her and then getting a diagnosis when it becomes a problem.

One of the other members here, @missy06 just went through a very extensive, drawn-out horse shopping experience, I'm sure with some heartbreak and difficulties, but just found her perfect match (Here's her journal with the new horse). There is a light at the end of the long horse-shopping tunnel, and I hope you can reach it soon!

I am very sorry to hear that news. I know just how disappointing it is when you think you've found a horse you'll love and then it doesn't work out how you'd sorely hoped... but there will be another one out there for you!
