this is my new rescue horse this is him on his old place and i just got him i think he has potential what do you guys think of him, what do you think of his head also?

he was starved by the trainers... and the people got him but cannot keep him and i absolutley love cremellos so im buying him

hmm she said "the people got him" so mabye he was starved at the trainers then went home and they fed him but they had to surrender him because they couldnt keep him? because he dosnt look starved to me either. but he is pretty and looks like he'll be a level headed guy!

No he don't look underweight in the pics. Are these pics from before he was starved or after he gained some back? It looks like he could use some muscle mass to fill him out a bit more but he's not starved.

Agreed. Big pet peeve of mine to call it a "rescue" when you are really just buying a horse that isn't necessarily in the greatest of shape.

He looks like he could use some conditioning, but he's not underweight. Either way good luck with him, congrats on your new horse and hope he works out well for what you want him for.

If you're buying him, he's not a rescue. If the people you're buying him from bought him he wasn't a rescue then either, regardless of whether he was being fed properly or not.

He certainly doesn't look starved to me. Could use some muscling, but he's definitely not underweight in those pictures.

He looks like a nice, calm, laid back boy, and I wish you well with him.

I rescue animals and sometimes, I have to pay a fee for the animal - whether it's to reimburse for travel fees or a medical treatment that my transporter didn't count on and shouldn't be expected to pay from their own pocket. They were doing me a favor and it shouldn't be their responsibility to foot the bill for an unexpected illness. Buying an animal out of desire and calling it a rescue is wrong.

Rescue is taking on an animal that, otherwise, had no other options. Rescue is giving a safe home to an animal that has been starved, neglected or abused. Rescue animals are one stop away from death, be it euthanasia or not. Many times, I am the animal's last hope for a safe, forever home. THAT is rescue.

I admit, I'm guilty of saying "I bought my mare just to save her life" but I don't claim her as a rescue. She had a home, just a bad one. She had owners that didn't know what they were doing but doing the best they knew how. They didn't realize that only weighing 664lbs (for a 9yo, 15hh quarter horse) was NOT just because she was "lacking muscle from not being used".... Poor girl had a rough life before I got her.
