Maybe you have heard of this story in the news. Sheriffs in Morton county found 119 horses in terrible condition and 96 dead. Burleigh county sheriffs found 38 in the same condition and 3 dead. All were being starved to death and had no water. All horses are/were owned by the same owner. He had hay but sold it off when prices went up. Wells for water were frozen. Very sad that someone could do this.
They are trying to line up supplies and people to take/adopt the horses once taken from there. So far, over 30 of the worst have been taken and are at Triple H Rescue.
If you can help, monetary wise or adopting, they would appreciate the help. PLEASE, spread the word to help these horses. We are working with a trainer and friend in Fargo, ND that will be going to get some of the horses. If you can take on one or two, I could share her contact info with you. Some horses may have ringworm or such. They would need to be quarantined at first. Even if you could just foster until a permanent home could be found.
Now, for some good news:
We know Gary. He's a really nice guy. I'm glad to hear his horse was found and he might get her back.
