New English saddle question

I just bought a band new bates CC saddle and it has a wax film on it from the factory. I am sure most new hunt saddles have this. Does anyone know if there is anything that will take it off faster? My friend shows jumpers and has the same saddle and she took a steel wire brush to her saddle and and oiled it and set it out in the sun. I thought she was crazy for doing that but it took it off and now she can grip her saddle better. I just do not want to do that. Thanks for any info. : )

Did you get the next generation one too? I just got mine and am already loving it. Maybe Bates has some saddle break info on it? I'm certainly not taking a wire brush to mine!
I got the caprilli. I haven't even had the chance to try mine out yet because of all the snow that we got here in Oklahoma. Kind of sucks. I have the itch to ride and I can't : ( I'll look at the tag and read it. I wont be taking a wire brush to mine either.
a lot of new saddles come with a waxy film over it that you have to scrub off to really be able to oil it and break it in. i don't think i'd use a wire brush! but a regular sponge and some saddle soap should be just fine!
I finaly got the chance to ride in my new saddle and I LOVE it!! I would buy bates over and over again. I am SOLD on them!! : )
I have a Bates Caprilli CC also - LOVE IT. Best saddle I have ever ridden in! But mine came with some special leather balm to use before the first ride and I believe that took it off!
