I'm thinking about starting racing with my mare, but it's a new sport for both of us so I have a few questions.
She would need to be seasoned, but where do I start? Do I need to pay a fee to bring her even if we don't race, do I just call who ever is putting it on and ask, are they use to those questions?
I get how the divisions are split in times but I'm unsure if you go in to the race claiming you run '2D' and wait to see how everyone else ran or if you all run and are giving times and places after? Also...what are expos?

Any other tips y'all have for me would be appreciated too! I know nothing so you can't tell me anything that I can't use. Thanks guys

I also want to know if anyone can explain to me what it's like being at the race. I've only watched races from the bleachers before. Are the competitors pretty friendly? Who tells you where to be and when? When the race is over how are awards given?
