I made a new side pull, and was using it the other day when it fell apart. Not to brag, but my stuff never breaks, so for a second I sat there on my horse like a dummy not comprehending what was going on. Then I remembered I had made it with unwaxed thread because I was in to big of a hurry to rewind some waxed thread on the awl. So now I have the entire spool threaded on my awl so that I won't run out until I use up the whole thing.

Maybe a little spool holder (post) off a sewing machine, set up in front of you and off to the right while you work, would allow smooth unwinding. To keep the thread from dropping on the floor all the time. LOL

I confess, I am a procrastinator. Got an old sewing machine from a thrift store that has been converted to manual operation. Industrial strength, a Pfaff 335. Should be great for tack repairs and such. Have had it nearly a year and not tried it yet.

I confess, I am a hoarder. I have lots of unfinished projects, and collecting things I want to do when I retire. This goes along well with being a procrastinator. For example I have every pair of worn out boots I've ever had saved in order to make things out them like purses, saddle bags, eyeglass cases, ... LOL

I'm just keeping the thread in my lap as I work. I'm retired, and I can't figure out how I found the time to work when I was working. I have plenty of things laying around as well, but I figure it's better to have to many things to do than no hobbies at all. And every time I toss something I later find a use for it and wish I still had it.
