My goal this summer was to take my mare showing. This will be her first time showing, as well as my first time in a long time. Things are going great as far as training goes, we're making a lot of progress. But since I don't have a job anymore, I'm relying on my parents to cover the costs of new equipment and other fees. They're fine with that, as long as I am helping out around the house and barn, we've also agreed that I would be paying them back for all the costs. They've already spent over $300 for show clothes. I'm starting to feel stressed out about them paying for everything. It's a lot of money. We're even buying our own trailer. The new barn I'm riding and working at has offered me the chance to show with their horses, and go to shows as a groom. My mum thinks it would be a good idea to show with them first, before showing on my own. Which I agree, but I was looking over the costs, and it would be waaaay cheaper to show my own horse, with my own trailer. This barn also allows people to bring their own horses for lessons. I was thinking since we will be getting our own trailer, if it would be more beneficial to take my mare over there for lessons, and do less shows. I'm getting to the point where I just have no idea what I should do anymore.
