Hmm, i didnt know where to put this so i put it here...

So I have a gelding (obviously) who still thinks he is a stallion butttt was gelded quite the while ago (him being 13 1/2 and thinking he was raced at 2 as a gelding...) He loves his mares and has "mare attachment issues" like if you put a mare in the field next to him he will either 1) never leave the fences side, with mare caring or not caring. or 2) once you get him out of the field he will scream and do anything to get loose and back to that fence...anything. Hes quite the casanova. So does anyone have any other "casanova" gelding stories??

Yeah, the gelding at our place. Big old mustang/morgan mix, 8 yo, the only man on the property. When Lilly first came home, he went right up to the fence and puffed himself up, postured, stomped, all that jazz. It was hilarious. He thinks of the mares as his harem...and goes berserk when you take one away! If you are riding one of the girls around the neighborhood, you will periodically hear the most feminine, girly scream ever to leave male lips! lol The other horses ignore him, of course. I can hear that guy miles away I swear...

I used to know a saddlebred stallion who was the exact opposite. You could excersise him/walk him near mares IN HEAT and all he'd do, at the most, was look at them a bit...but that was the extent of his studliness, lol.

theres this one mare in perticular who, when cutter was turned out next to her, would be against the fence dividing them alll day, and theyd squeal at eachother continuesly.
it was so obnoxious i demanded he be turned out somewhere else lol

My guy loves the mares, but my sis' horse, lade, is the funniest boy! He is a huge arab gelding, that was gelded way too early, hence the size, and the sissy boy voice. I call him "Glenda", since he sounds like Glenda the Good Witch from Wizard of Oz. He was a halter horse, and the original owners were going to put him down because he had an injury on the front of one leg, and wasn't able to show any more. My sister's friend rescued him, and she ended up with him. He's a pasture pone, since he came up lame, unknown cause. Anywhooo, when the mare is taken out, Blade runs the fence, screaming and calling, and she pretty much just rolls her eyes. Pretty funny!
Mares are funny, too! Both my sister's mares think any guy is better than no guy, and geldings are just hunky-dory with them, cuz ya never know....LOL

ahahah my gelding, omg, AT EVERY horse show..or "outing" he always finds some cute little bay or chestnut, its usually a bay, since hes had up to 4 chestnut mares in his "herd" and at the last horse show, he found a bay qh mare, who is a total cow and he fell MADLY in love with her, we had the same class, and Dak was staring at her, not even listening to my cues! And then while we lined up to back up for the judge, he wouldnt even listen then because he was staring at her! lol!!!
And she even tried kicking him and then for some reason she ended up falling for him too! lolll
