I always thought outside animals would make my house cleaner. I'm overwhelmed by the way my house is now that we've taken on 3 horses since March. Being in AZ I have dirt in places I didn't know I had. I am so disgusted and don't think I'm that clean to begin with. But this is just completely disgusting.

I have dust/dirt on every surface 24/7. I 6 prs of shoes sitting inside the door (critters get them on the patio). I have mud anywhere there was an ice cube. Oh my gosh...the laundry! then the pile of dirt by that! I have mud running down my dishwasher or any surface where we wash or grab a drink.

I can't even figure out how to do the horses and get dinner on the table before 8pm since it's so hot, evening is the only time to go out.

I am desperate for some sort of schedule and set-up since everything is turned upside down. I'm sure there's a learning curve here, but I'm completely overwhelmed. When homeschooling returns in August, I just may loose my mind.

When I lived in Tucson, I fed breakfast, picked out and watered at 5 a.m. and if I went on a ride, we left by 6:30 a.m. and were back by 9 at the very latest. Inside for cleaning and laundry til noon or 1. Then swimming or nap til 4 or 5. Feed dinner and water at 5 p.m., go inside and fix our dinner by 6 p.m. Another trail ride from 8 p.m. to midnight a couple nights a week.

LOL...looks like I need to recreate my whole family's schedule of sleeping, eating and going to bed.

I like the nap idea though.

We're just getting into the 100's now-the next few nights will have lows of 80 degrees. If the laundry has piled up beyond what's manageable, maybe get caught up by going to a Laundromat? Make dinner simple-cook in the microwave or a crock pot. A mess not made doesn't have to be cleaned & everyone should clean the mess they make. For me living in AZ is a struggle, much harder than it was in CA.

I sympathize; I lived in Tucson for a short while, that is, till summer hit & I bailed!

The suggestion to be active before sunup & after sundown is it!

Also, when you're feeling overwhelmed, just pick out one small thing to do, like wash off just one surface. Then you can pick out just one more if you feel like it, or wait a bit for the next small thing to do. It'll all add up to a clean house before you know it!

LOL. So we did the early thing and we're all sleeping. I just got up.

And I thought you'd all say..."get grass!" Grass is um....cleaner. I'm so done with dust.
