So, back in 2007, I did a dressage schooling show on my guy, Blaze, and up until recently, I thought we only had pictures of it. I was talking to my dad and he goes, "Oh, no. We have a video. It's on the video camera." Cue dramatic music. Our video camera is at least 14 years old and is as basic as it gets, not to mention all of the equipment for it has gone missing over the course of the years. Battery? Pffft, who needs one? AV cord? Pffft. Nobody actually watches home videos, right? WRONG! I also found the tapes for random stuff around my old barn that I'd like to see, so I set off on a quest to somehow get said videos onto my computer for my convenience. Since this camcorder in particular is too old to hook up to my computer, this quest should be pretty fun...

Luckily, my family bought out a storage locker last month and the family had all sorts of camcorder equipment. Neckstrap. Battery that happens to fit my camera. An most importantly, AV CORD! Currently, the only plan I have is to hook it up to my TV and record the videos onto my phone, which takes really high quality video, and hopefully get a mediocre quality video on my computer.

I can't possibly be the only horsewo/man that's had riding stuff become a victim of technology, sooo I thought I'd start this thread so people can share their stories about dealing with evolving technology. xD
