Take a look at this video.
"He [the horse] trusts me 110%"

"He has been doing this for YEARS.."
"This kid has some real talent."

Ugh, this is so sad. And, imagine that, it's the same guy from the reining thread.

Shoot. It just worked like 10 minutes ago!
Well just look at the original image before you hit play. He wraps the horse's let up in the rope then pulls the opposite rein toward him and then the horse "lays down".
Looks more like falling to me, but whatever..

Based on your description and the picture (since the video has been pulled) the method he is using is similar to the way Clinton Anderson does it; but CA uses a halter not a bridle and the horse is not saddled. I watched him lay down Cider, the horse he was giving away, in the episode about teaching her to hobble.

I"m not sure of the reason for the title of the thread.

I am teaching my horses how to bow and lay down, and I do have to use a leg band and lead to help them keep their foot up while I teach them to 'give' to pressure placed just in front of their withers (at first all I look for is for them to shift their weight to their rear ends, then I progress from there, eventually the only cue they will recieve is the front of their wither); I'm too short to administer the cue and keep the foot up...Lol! I can't see the video, as the user has removed it, so I can't tell if he is actually forcing the horse, or if he just still has to use the leg wrap, and cue from above still.

It's kind of unfair to post somebody else's video on here just to tear it to shreds. How would you like it if some random person on the internet took one of your videos and did that?

That is such a difficult question. If a person posts a video for the entire world to see, how can they expect privacy? Look how many videos are placed on the news each day and used in courts of law. If the video was meant to be private then the internet is not the place to post it. Positing a video on YouTube, as an example, invites discussion - both positive and negative.

LOL, this is a debate that can go on forever!!! ... but we are hijacking a thread. We need to get back on topic. I'll pick this up in the General Off Topic forum.

It is trust.

Not sick...?

I try to do this with my horse. But they can easily not do this, they can just jump up when they almost hit the floor.

How is it sad?
