FOR LEASE SUMMER 2010:
8 y/o Paint gelding
“Trigger”

I am a college student, and I don’t have time for my horse Trigger over the summer, so I’m looking for a full summer lease for roughly the time period of beginning of May-end of August.

He is currently located in Richmond, IN but can be trailered to the Philadelphia area for a reduced rate. If you know anyone in the Richmond area, or Dayton OH / Cincinnati OH / Indianapolis IN area who may be looking to lease a horse, let them know as well! Trigger is the perfect horse for any level rider, and is a great transition for someone who may be looking to buy a horse in the future.

He can be ridden by anyone, complete beginner through advanced, but I would prefer someone who can work consistently with him and ride him about 5 days per week.

Name: Moon Shot (barn name: Trigger)
Breed: Paint
Birth year: 2002 (8 years old)
Registered: No, but could be.
Color: Solid bay with white crescent moon on his forehead and large white snip on his nose.
Height: 15.2hh ABOUT...will have to measure
Health: Never been sick or injured! Doesn't need shoes. UTD on all vaccines, also has current coggins.
Personality: Trigger is very friendly and has never tried to kick or bite. He loves kids and is generally a bombproof horse. Has a very playful personality, and will keep you on your toes! He doesn't need shoes, but does perfectly for the farrier/vet/dentist/grooming/clipping/trailering/grooming/tacking up.
Under saddle: Trigger is a very good teacher! He has a soft mouth and responds quite well to leg. He does need a lot of leg (he’s a bit lazy), but gets very excited about jumping and trails! He is a solid trail horse and will do anything you want. He jumps over 4 feet and LOVES jumping! he apparently has had some dressage training but I don't ride dressage so I don't know what he can do.
Show experience: halter, hunter, jumper, western, cross country (loves cross country the best). i haven't shown him since I‘ve had him, but he has the basic show experience!

Fee: $250 per month (OBO) (I am willing to negotiate with someone who will show him or get riding/training lessons with him!)

Leaser is responsible for normal vet fees and feed. I would prefer a home where he will get a lot of exercise! Should he injure himself, vet costs can be discussed.

Please contact me with any questions!

i am not in school over the summer, but need to work.

and yes, in areas around the city people pay a lot to lease a horse on top of the board rates. especially for potential show horses.
