So, my previous horse Murphy coliced last night. Murphy is a beautiful 15.3 hh bright bay mare with a cute thin blaze. Great dressage horse and hunter extraordinaire. I sold her to one of my friends 3 years ago as she does not like eventing. My friend is in love with her.
Last night, she started showing signs of colic so they immediately called the vet. The vet gave her a dose of Banamine and called it good. After that, Murphy was up and looked interested and alert. Then, she went down again. The vet decided that the colic was in her small intestine and she should be taken to the biggest vet hospital in the state, Kansas State Vet Hospital in Manhattan.
Haven't heard any updates since then but her owner is not at work so she's probably still at the vet hospital.
I am SO attached to this horse. This is probably one of my favorite horses I have ever owned in my entire life.
Please send good thoughts to Murphy!
Maybe we can pull her through this.
