Hi Everyone,

I would really like to get to know Indigo's real age, that way i know if i need to put him on senior feed or what.
So i am rather wondering if anyone know's if Auction Place's keep Record's or information on Already sold horses, in other words previously sold horses.
I am thinking of calling where i got Indigo and seeing if they do, and what information i can get.
I would really like to just get ANY kind of information about him, that will tell me alot more.
It is alot hard when he isnt registered or tattoo'd.
My Gap for age is either 12-21.
I still have the reciept and the tag number that was on his rear end, and the lot pen number.
So i dont see why they couldnt possibly dig something up for me ?

Could someone let me know, if it is possible to phone them and see if they have any records regarding sold horses. Im sure they must have Something at least.

I would have known his age, if i wasnt crying so much to pay attention ! But i couldnt help it, i absolutely adore him and it tore me apart knowing the meat buyers were going to have him, until i went and purchased him off of them.

Yea, I'm pretty sure they keep records. Not entirely 100% sure though. It doesn't hurt to try and call them tho.
They might not have even given his age when he went through the sale. Some times if people don't know the age of a horse that goes through the sale, but they know the horse is over at least 11 they call them 'smooth mouths'.

They should keep records. But some information they might not be able to give you due to confidentiality reasons. I tracked down my mare's breeding by contacting the auction lot, so give it a try and tell us how it goes :)

They may be able to tell you the name of the previous owners (thety will know it they just might not tell you). They won't have any other info than what the sellers told them. You should be able to tell from his teeth alot closer than 12-21. As far as the senior feed goes, if he is in good shape then don't worry about it and if he's thin give him more feed or some grain. I'm not a big fan of the senior feeds. I prefer a rolled barley and corn mix.

Well i do know that they said his name, i caught the year old thing, but i missed the number, so im 100% sure they will have it.
I will ring them up tomorrow and see :)
It would be nice to see who he has in his lines if i can get ahold of it, I am not looking to get the previous owner's number because im sure i would probably kill them, noone should ever treat an animal the way he was treated, Ever.

But what ever information i can get ahold of i want to give it a try, i am full of hope :)

Well the issue is, he is a cribber, so it is a bit hard.
But he will be getting his teeth floated soon, so i might be able to get a rough estimate.
He is on quite a lot of feeds lol, he is on horse power, an oat and corn mix, and so forth lol :)
