I have an Appendix QH (dam side TB) that I'm looking at future stallions for. (Long ways away since I'm in Nursing school and have no time for a bred mare)

My question is...Do I have to cross her to a 100% Quarter horse, or am I able to breed her to another Appendix QH?

She is race-bred, and many of the stallions I'm looking into do have TB in them.

I checked AQHA's website and didn't see anything regarding this matter.

Thanks to anyone that has information. :)

I think if an appendix horse has made a point in the AQHA show circuit, they get blue papers and then are considered full qh's. You could find something with a show record :)

TU - that's covered in the article I linked. :) It explains all of that fun stuff and how advancement to regular papers are achieved.

Thanks you guys. That's extremely helpful and now I know what to look for when choosing a future stallion. Papers are an absolute must.
