I'm trying to chose between racing and eventing as a career.
I love both but there are pros and cons.
Racing: You ride ALL the time (which is a huge bonus for me)
i love the horses
I know how to get into it
The money isn't great but its better than eventing
You can be a rider, you get to travel ext.

Eventing: I've been doing it since i was 13
I know i love the riding
Again i love the horses
I have more experience with it

However i know you dont get to do THAT much riding when you work at a yard
I do NOT only want to be a groom
The pay isn't as good
You dont get benefits really.

So personally i want to do racing, but the main problem i have is that everyone says its really hard, which i dont care about but i just want to know why is everyone so much more apposed to racing?
Whats it like working on an eventing yard, how much will i ride, because i hate the idea of only being a groom.

You wont get paid much on either type of yard - and you wont get to ride in competitions either but you would probably be expected to exercise daily. On most eventing yards you are just there to care for the horses that are competed by the owners
A racing yard is less likely to want some sort of a BHS certificate
If you're a talented proven rider you'd have more chance of competing if you worked for a good dealer
