So my little mare has some pretty nasty raw sores on her legs below her knees. Im pretty sure this is from all the getting up and laying down she does, she lays down all the time, very cute! But she is very sore and Im thinking she needs stable wraps on. Hhat do you think? She also stall walks so even if I put extra shaving in her stall she seems to get them all messed up and gross. The paddock is just wayto frozen with ice nad when its not that ts 2 feet in mud, tell me what you think.:-|

If it were my horse, I'd clean up her legs, put some antibacterial on the wounds and surrounding flesh, then I'd give my vet a call and see what their recommended treatment was. Sometimes wrapping a wound can make it take a bit longer to heal. Of course, I'm not a vet, or a vet tech.

My mare gets a little soars at the front of her pasterns. They will usually turn to caluses. I had a horse with weak hinds get hock rubs all the time.

Do your stalls have mats in them? How deep is the bedding?
