Reining saddles on a budget?

2322 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Layneywashere
Hello everyone!
I am looking into getting a new saddle (new to me, I don’t mind having a used saddle) I’m newer to reining and wanting to get a reining saddle, but I am on a budget. Does anyone have any recommendations for getting a good reining saddle without breaking the bank?

There are TONS of tack trader groups on Facebook. Under $1000 you can likely find Billy Cook, Circle Y or possibly an older Crates. Can occasionally find a Bob's or M.L. Leddy for $1500+, but I love my Continental Reining saddle and would personally start at their Specials & Bargains page Continental Saddlery Inc. And www.horsesaddleshop.com usually has a good selection of brands in all price ranges.

Have you ridden in any brands that you loved or disliked? Any brands that tend to fit your horse better than others?
I am just getting started in reining, so im the past when I’ve hoped in a reining saddle I didn’t pay just attention. I am currently working with a trainer who has some reining saddles, so I was to see if she would let me look them over. I’m considering buying a little reining bred gelding that would be ready to start next spring. So I was hoping to get some ideas and start saving so next spring I could make a good investment.
