Hey guys! I am just curious what product I can use on my saddle to get residue off of it. I have been using Effax Leather Balm for a year, but the beeswax product left much residue. It causes dirt to stick to it very easy and makes my saddle very sticky instead of soft and supple. Is there anything I can do to get this off?? Also, what cleaning product would you recommend to clean saddles with?

To get rid of the residue, use a very hot damp cloth first. It will take a while, but will come off. To condition I use olive oil. It has been used since pre Roman times to keep leather supple and is fairly cheap. I have always found saddle soap and other concoctions to leave sticky residues that will attract more dirt.
