Just curious, If you are required to pay a ring fee when you take a lesson with your trainer, is it expected to have to share the ring during your lesson with others? Never had to pay a ring fee before so not sure how it works. I was not told before moving in that ring fee would be charged and I asked if I could use my trainer and it was, of course, no problem. Thanks for any input.

At all the barns I know, you pay an arena fee if you keep your horse elsewhere and trailer in. If you keep your horse on the premises, the arena use is included in the price of board.

When you bring in an external trainer, some barns charge for the use of the facilities, but here it's usually the trainer that is charged, not the boarder.

And yes, whether you pay an arena fee or not, you are expected to share the arena with others. It is good practice of the barn though to post lesson times, so people don't trailer in during lessons.
