A fellow boarder's 36 yo quarter horse mare passed away late yesterday night, surrounded by the people who loved her. She was a sweet old thing and I feel honoured to have been present on her very last trailride. She was so full of life and spirit, it's hard to fathom that that ride was barely two weeks ago. Everyone is going to miss her so much...most of all her owner and partner of thirty years. Thirty years! It'll be a bittersweet Christmas this year for that poor woman. At the very least, she has her old mare's beautiful granddaughter.
Just wanted to write a little something. It won't be the same not seeing her there anymore.
Rest in peace old girl. I'm sure you're up there in the big meadow in the sky, galloping those endless plains where the wind is warm and the grass is sweet.
