This is River, our 9yo TB gelding. Supposedly was very fast but too lazy to run! We adopted him last week after a ferrier's "apprentice" trimmed his hooves so short his previous owner couldn't provide the necessary medical care. He is such a loving soul! He came with a 3 month old female goat, Lola, that is his emotional support goat! He immediately started grooming out miniature horse Yazhi and miniature donkey Butterscotch.

We will ride him once his hooves and soles grow. Vet said a few months to be safe. We are lucky enough to have plenty of room at home for him and live next to a WMA with lots of trails. Going to get an Aussie Saddle since my wife rides English and I ride Western. If the goat gets out of his sight he will winney and the goat will run back to him. I have been working with horses of and on since the mid 70s and I've never see a gelding so affectionate to another horse.

Would hoof boots give the horse some comfort while his feet grow out more?
That left foot is not full weight bearing and pointed tells a tale of ouch.

Your trees, vegetation so green yet and the WMA ....
Southern living and this is the finest having our animals in the backyard.
