So I just recently got my new horse (yay!) Anyway, she has a REALLY thin mane, and it's rubbed off in the middle. Should I just roach it? Or cut it all off? What do you think?:-?

what about letting it grow for a bit then pulling her mane to the same length, or you could roach it, its entierly up to you. i really wanna roach my mares mane but i dont have clippers yet and im scared to try it using just scissors

I wouldn't pull it, but if you did let it grow out a bit you could trim up the longer section using a pulling type technique (back comb the hair and trim up the few longest ones, then repeat until it's shorter)

Its summer, its hot, manes grow back, Roach it. It could possibly grow back evenly then.

I use this technique when the mane is already thin enough, but just needs to be shortened a bit.
