I bought a weaver rope halter and tried it on my horse today. It was a little long in the underside, so I went to adjust the fiador knot to cinch it up. And I have no idea how I did it, but its a not a fiador knot anymore. I can't tell where the lead rope loops are supposed to come from. Its all one long rope and the ends are soddered together with a copper closer or frankly I'd pull it all apart and retied the darned thing. Is there any way to fix this? Its a brand new halter. :( I've searched the internet for someway to help. I've scowled over pictures of fiador knots trying to emulate them. Its not brain science, but I cant figure this out. Help?

Yeah, I did this as well with my rope halter--I re-tied the fiador knot once, and then could never remember how to do it again. Unless your horse is the super-spooky type, I wouldn't worry about it. Are you saying you untied the whole thing? Pictures would probably help LOL.

post a picture of your little mess or pm it to me, I am pretty good with a fiador and could possibly tell you how to fix it.

I tie my own rope halters and I have figured out to just tie a double overhand knot instead of a fiador. You can untie and adjust them while you're trying to figure out where to start on a fiador.

Thank you all for the help. I gave the halter to my husband to take to work (he works with our ferrier), hopefully she can sort it out for me. If not I'll take a picture and upload it here. Hope everyone is well. :)
