I have just started loaning a 5 year old horse for the Summer and am looking to get him straighter in all gates and to accept the bend on the left hand rein. He accepts the bit well for his age and has a willing attitude although is quite uptight so is difficult to relax.

I have owned ponies for years and my most recent horse was a 5 year old when I got him and we did show jumping very successfully so have experience with bringing on horses, however I am still young and have plenty to learn!

Does anyone have any ideas to relax Albert and get him moving straight as well as bending around my leg?

He is fit and is very responsive in the hand and leg. He chooses the bottom corner of the school to spook at most times I have ridden him however after a few laps he tends to settle.

Appreciate any advice! :)
