I purchased two blm mustangs from an online (BLM) auction. From what i understand, purchased horses do not get titles. Is that correct? Now i have to sell these horses to afford a surgery for one of my others, how do i go about that?

As you bought them through an auction they are most likely under the protection of the Wild Free Roaming Pritection laws. That means the government retains ownership until the BLM issues you a certificate of title. That happens after a year if I'm not mistaken. Once they've been titled, then you can sell them.

This to me says you're expecting titles at some point. You need to call the BLM office that you purchased them through and clarify whether they are to be titled or not. There are some sold without title. Your paperwork should be clear about this though and you would have received paperwork. If they're to be titled you will have to make arrangements through BLM for their return. My understanding is purchase price is not refundable.

Going off the blm site that is only accurate for horses/burros over 10 yrs old OR if they have been offered for adoption more than 3 times. If either is the case for the two you have then you would have automatically recieved a bill of sale and will not have to wait the 1 year as they will not be given a title
