So we had the farrier out for Grace's feet, they were bad when we got her from the auction. We warned Kelly our farrier that we didn't know how well she'd behave. Now Kelly is our farrier because she's good but also because she's gentle. (I'd guess she weighs all of 120#). Maybe that means she has no choice in the matter but I think she's a gentle soul. We have been working with Grace since she came home at picking up her feet with pretty good progress. So front hoof was a little rough then back on same side went smoother. Other front went twice as well as the first and the last rear was like she'd been doing this her whole life. Kelly said one or two more times and Grace will probably do all the work for her while she waits in the truck! Seriously she was really impressed with her intelligence and temperment. Said we got the a steal on her and that I was going to have a great trail horse after we train her this spring.

That's wonderful that Grace was so cooperative with her feet and that your farrier was willing to work with her a little and not get upset. She (Grace) is such a pretty girl :)

Thank you! She's so sweet and she loves to be pet and brushed and will just follow you anywhere. The first day we got her she jumped the fence and instead of running off she heard us working along the shop and came over to visit. lol
