The sad part is that some ignorant fool may come along and buy that horse for that very reason...as a companion for their child to grow up with. As a parent this kind of thing really makes me mad. Nobody should attempt to sell a horse to a child that isn't 100% child friendly...dead broke, laid back easy going temperament. I can't tell you how many ads I have seen for horses that are 'perfect for kids' and once we went out and watched the owner ride, I was afraid to ride.....much less put my kid on. I swear, there is very little honesty and integrity in the horse industry. I wouldn't want a child's life in my hands...and by selling a horse to a child that you know is anything but dead broke, that is exactly what you are doing! To attempt to market a horse that is not broke to ride and very young to a child is just horrible to me. Sorry for the rant y'all but that just makes me so mad
