This past Thursday, my horse produced a scorching 103.8 fever. I found a tick on him 3 weeks ago, so we're think Lyme or the longer I-named illness that I can't think of right now. After 24 hours of trying to keep it down with Benamine, the vet put him on Doxyciclin Friday night and he's already resonding wonderfully. Today he was acting a little goofy, so I put him on a lunge line and had him walk around a bit. He chose to pick a trot and even a nice energetic neck shaking squealing canter a few times. He's definitely feeling better. I've already asked the vet when to resume work. So far we're cleared for walk/trot, but I am curious to see how quickly your horses were truly ready to go back to full time work. We have a show in 2 weeks. While I'd like to actually be ready for it, I'm not going to do it at the expense of my boy.

So, how quickly did your horse recover?
